Completely different. I’m not aware of any significant overlap. Intelligence has to do with your brain. Emotions have to do with your body, or heart, or gut.
Another responder said that emotions are useless, because they may lead to bad decisions.
I’d have to vehemently disagree with the first part of that. Numbed emotions will lead to a dull, meaningless life. I’d agree, though, that the second part of that statement (emotions may lead to bad decisions) is a possibility. And, they just as easily may lead to good decisions.
Regardless, decision making may or may not draw on either intelligence oremotions. Decisions tend to be based on logic – a completely different area of the brain than that responsible for learning and memorizing – the primary components of intelligence, beyond that which is innate to each individual.
