Is gratitude the door to expanded consciousness? If so, why and how?

It’s surely a door, if not the door.

A precursor to feeling gratitude is noticing what you’re grateful for. That process leads to an inner inquiry (which is, in itself, consciousness-raising). What am I grateful for? Anyone who’s reading this should be able to come up with 5 to 10 answers to that question within a few seconds’ time.

So now you have 5 or 10 answers. How deeply can you feel the gratitude, deep within you? The deeper you feel it, the greater its benefits for your mind and body.

Can you feel it in your heart? What does it feel like there? Do tears form in your eyes? Is joy present now? How does that feel? How long can you retain that feeling? 30 seconds? 60 seconds? Longer?

This exercise of deeply feeling gratitude takes you down several simultaneous paths to mind/body benefits: Read more

Does masturbation lead to a decrease in intelligence, concentration power?

Male ejaculation – whether via masturbation or intercourse – is essentially shooting your life force energy out the tip of your penis.

The possible effects of this are obvious from some of the other respondents to this question. Loss of concentration, feelings of decreased energy/sex drive and subsequent moodiness are the most frequent effects.

Many tantric teachers recommend refraining from ejaculation altogether. They’ll also teach how men can experience powerful orgasm(s) independent of ejaculation by engaging certain practices that might include: Read more

If life is a reality which we make of it, why are we not in control of it?

And what gives you the idea you’re not in control? You’re in near total control!

Your thoughts determine your reality. If your thoughts are negative or fear based, that’s exactly what will show up in your life.

If your thoughts are positive and optimistic… if you have a clear vision for what you want in your life, that’s what will show up.

If you’re not familiar with it, do a little research on the Law of Attraction. If you become adept at practices to invoke the law, you’ll create a lifestyle more incredible than you can even imagine today.

I am reading The Secret right now. What is the logical reason why any of the stuff in the book should be true? So far, I have yet to read a scientific explanation for The Law of Attraction.

There’s no logic to the Law of Attraction. Just as there’s no logic to the Law of Gravity. They don’t need to be logical. They’re not math. They’re laws. Read more

What hobbies require intense focus?

Great question for today. I’m learning to fly a drone. It’s a whole new learning experience, and the moment I take my eye off the drone, it’s lost.

But I expect I’ll build skill with each flight, and it’s just a matter of time until I become more proficient at it.

The first time I scuba dived, it was really intense trying to maintain buoyancy in the water. Now, after 60 dives or so, it’s pretty automatic.

So I imagine that most things involve going through the cycle of competency. Here’s an overview, using a child learning to walk as an example. Read more
